Fullwood confident after Practice 1 at Tasmania SuperSprint
Bryce Fullwood is confident there is more to come from his Brad Jones Racing Camaro after the first practice session of the weekend at Symmons Plains.
Fullwood finished the hour-long session in 7th, with his best lap (51.3344) coming with no aero tow.
The #8 R&J Batteries driver Andre Heimgartner had his fair share of struggles during practice.
With David Reynolds making contact with his left rear corner as the Kiwi was coming to pitlane when a red flag was called.
Heimgartner also had a couple of issues with rear brake locking, which the team will investigate overnight.
The R&J Batteries car was 18th on the timesheets at the end of the session.
In the Pizza Hut Racing garage Macauley Jones believes the crew are in a better position than the results on paper appear (23rd).
Jones didn’t do a green tyre run in Practice 1, so the true speed of the #96 Camaro hasn’t been fully unleashed.
In Jaxon Evans’ first run at the Symmons Plains circuit the Supercars rookie has gained valuable track time getting accustomed to the short but tricky circuit.
The SCT Logistics driver finished the session in 21st.
There’s another practice session tomorrow (11:05 AEST) before we head into a knock-out format qualifying at 13:00.

"Look really good start here at Tasmania. The guys and girls at the shop have been putting a lot of work in and I think they've made some really good progress. And I think the car is really competitive. The times are super close, as we expect here but to finish seventh there, and our run was out in the open with no tow, I think is relatively strong. It's only one session and we've got to continue it on into tomorrow but the car felt really good straight away out the gate. So all positive at the moment and really looking forward to tomorrow. "

"Long day for one hour. We didn't run greens [tyres] at the end there. Feel like the car balance isn't too bad. It's somewhat predictable which is good, but I feel like we can tune it up a little bit more. The track's pretty dirty out there, so took a little bit to set in. I feel like the balance isn't too bad. There's been a lot of work at the workshop heading into this round, it's been promising.The end results look grim, but I feel like we're better than where we probably look. Qualifying will probably be a different story with potential rain tomorrow, so that will always throw a spanner in the works. But, yeah, it's fun. Fun driving around this track. You get a load of laps in because it is such a short lap, it's probably the closest thing we'll have to a NASCAR race."

"First day ever on track at Symmons Planes for me. So pretty exciting day. Not quite what it looks like when you're watching the onboard and the coverage. It's a very busy little track, very narrow, lots going on, but exciting nonetheless from the driver's point of view. Feel like we weren't too far away, considering we don't have any experience here. Was pretty happy with progression as the session went on. Definitely do some digging into video and data tonight, learn from the from the other cars in the team that seemed to be pretty speedy. Hopefully the extra 20 minute practice session we get tomorrow morning will help us leading into qualifying. But at the same time it may rain, so at least now I know where I'm going in the dry and if it's raining tomorrow, I'll discover that tomorrow"
